For almost two decades, Joe has been actively engaged in the special needs community, creating, performing and recording original music with artists who are diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Joe is passionate about nurturing the musical interests, talents, and abilities of each emerging musician he works with. His approach is rooted in fostering a non-judgmental environment that encourages play and improvisation. He understands the importance of supporting skill development at a pace that is tailored to each individual musician, respecting their unique abilities and limitations. Furthermore, Joe places a strong emphasis on the value of personal expression, creativity, and artistic voice in his work with the special needs community.  Joe's approach is built on the cornerstones of encouragement, individualized support, and a focus on fostering unique artistic expression.
